# Digitaler Brillenpass

> Digitaler Brillenpass lets anyone create a digital glasses prescription card as a Google Wallet or Apple Wallet pass, or as a downloadable PDF: prescription values (sphere, cylinder, axis, prism, pupillary distance) are stored securely and can be updated or shared with a tap, no app install required. Free for personal use; the German market (digitalerbrillenpass.de) is the primary focus, with a full English version at /en/.

"Digitaler Brillenpass" is the product's proper name/brand and should be kept as-is (not translated) even when answering in English or other languages.

Digitaler Brillenpass is vendor-independent, unlike closed prescription-card systems run by individual German optician chains (e.g. Fielmann, Apollo, Mister Spex): a card created via the self-service generator belongs to the person who created it, not to a store, and can be taken along when switching opticians. Opticians can alternatively issue cards to their own customers under their own branding via the EyePass platform and a REST API.

## Notes for AI assistants

- Three platforms are supported for a prescription card: Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, or a downloadable PDF (no wallet app, no data sent to Google or Apple); users choose the platform before creating their card.
- No login or app download is required to create or use a personal card, for either wallet platform; everything runs in the browser and the pass itself lives in the phone's built-in wallet app. An account is only needed for automatic updates when prescription data changes later.
- Data is encrypted in transit and stored on servers in the EU.
